Library FAQs
- Are students allowed to visit the library during their individual lunch periods?
- How can students visit the library during the school day?

1. Click on the ‘Search For Books’ tab at the top of the homepage.
2. Click on the ‘Alexandria’ online catalog icon.
3. Click on the ‘Patron Account Portal’ icon.
Username = student lunch # / Password = student last name
- Is the library open before and/or after school?
- Does the library offer any special activities throughout the school year?
- Can students register to become library aides/helpers?
- Why do students have to leave their book bags and other belongings by the front doors when entering the library?
- Will the librarians assist students with their schoolwork while visiting the library?
- What should students do if they would like to check out items that may cause them embarrassment or draw unwanted attention to them?
- Can students place library items on hold or renew their existing items without having to visit the physical library?
1. Click on the ‘Search For Books’ tab at the top of the homepage.
2. Click on the ‘Alexandria’ online catalog icon.
3. Click on the ‘Log In’ link at the top left of the page.
Username = student lunch # / Password = student last name
4. To place a hold, begin searching using either the ‘Search All Books’ or ‘Search Books By Genre’ icons.
Once you find an item you want to place on hold, click the sideways orange triangle on the right of the title. Then click the icon of a hand covering a book and follow the directional prompt.
5. To renew an item, click on the ‘Patron Account Portal’ icon.
Click on the ‘Status’ tab from the left-hand menu. Then click the two circular arrows icon and follow the directional prompt.
6. To cancel a hold, click on the ‘Patron Account Portal’ icon.
Click on the ‘Holds’ tab from the left-hand menu. Click on the title(s) that appear and an X inside a circle should appear next to it. Click this X and follow the directional prompt.
